Jody Lavoie


Starting his real estate career in 2004 Jody leveraged his business background to
quickly gain traction, and has continued to be one of Ottawa’s top brokers.
The Lavoie family has been involved in real estate since the 1970s with dominant
brands like Royal Trust and Canada Trust. To add to the level of service he provides
to his clients, in 2008 Jody became a real estate and mortgage broker, and in
2017 expanded to Alberta opening the Land +Trust real estate brand where he
currently serves as Managing Broker. Looking at new challenges Jody became
the Manager of the largest real estate office in Ottawa for 2016-2018

Jody has always believed in giving back to both the community and the industry. In 2008 Jody founded the charity project Renovation Challenge, guiding many volunteers to give tens of thousands of dollars to outstanding charities like Ronald McDonald House and Royal Lepage Shelter foundation.  He is the only Agent ever to receive the Keller Williams Secret Angel Award that has not worked at the brokerage. Other Philanthropic highlights include the Royal LePage Shelter Award for Ontario and the RLP Fur Coat Inscription.

As a past Chairman and 3 term Director (2010-2019) of the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO), Jody spent 9 years shaping the foundation of the real estate industry. Changes to Advertising guidelines, Chaired the insurance committee while managing to maintain the lowest fees in the country while increasing coverage for agents, Relocated 30K sq/ft corporate office space, Formalized a coalition for all Canadian real estate regulators (RERC), Hired 2 CEOs, and replaced the entire education system with a technology focused adult learning model. He now continues to shape the education program as Special Advisor to the President, NIIT Canada, leading partner in the Humber real estate education program.

Melanie Nabert

Sales Representative

Melanie is hard working, enthusiastic, passionate and is always up for a challenge. Learning and growing are her passion which is a perfect match for real estate. Melanie started her real estate career in 2006. She has flown up the ranks from a part time receptionist to branch administrator to Sales Representative.  Melanie joined Jody at the Great Agent Team in November of 2010 and has not looked back.  Melanie's ability to understand client needs and manage the team are an asset to all those who come in contact with her. She not only works with clients, she also manages the group and is always able to find answers to tough questions.
Melanie grew up in the country and has also lived in many different parts of Ottawa; this gives her a great balance of experience to meet all her clients and partners needs.
On her personal time, Melanie enjoys spending time with her 2 young boys and her dog. She actively volunteers and fosters for a local foster based dog rescue.  She also loves gardening and planning home renovations.
Melanie puts her all into everything that she does, will always fight for what is best for her clients and goes above and beyond what the average agent does.
